Directly behind digital photographer bill's back is a "breakfast room."

One table contained an opened chemistry textbook.

Chemistry textbook belonged to instructor's wife, Deb, who said she was taking a chemistry and algebra courses from TVI at age 41!

Deb also reports she carries a concealed handgun.

All of this could only happen in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Instructor, seen at left, uses a Kel Tech 380 in a pocket wallet-size holster for personal protection.

Pro se fights, of course, uses more disk space and bandwidth for personal protection.

Dig these courses!

Urban Rifle 0605-04J
Tactical Shotgun 0603-04D

NO ONE GOT SHOT SUNDAY FEBRUARY 26, 2006!

Payne's amazed.

To qualify shooter had to shoot 5 trials from holster draw of 3 shots, two to the chest and one to either the head or groin, at 3 yards. Then shoot 5 trials with 2 shots each from holster draw at 7 yards to the chest.

Goal is to stop the action with two shots.

If this doesn't work, then try two more. Then two more to a different part of the body.

Opposition may be wearing body armor.

Payne chose groin shots.

And passed.

Seventeen students with three instructors shot hundreds, thousands total actually, of rounds of ammo from about 09:30 to about 16:00.

Instructors caused students autos to malfunction in several ways [stove pipe, double feed] to make sure that students could correct problems.

Instructor reports that DOJ specifies that 10 rounds that misfire in each 1,000 lot of ammo is acceptable.

Bird hunting buddy recommend class.

rule 1 all guns are always loaded
rule 2 never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy
rule 3 keep finger off trigger until sights are on target and decision to shoot is made

Instructor had very advanced computer slide show which included both real and animated video!

A real video sequence showed male officer trying to 'cuff a suspect on the ground.

A female officer was seen covering suspect with pistol.

Struggling suspect rose slightly.

Female officer's handgun went off.

Instructor reported that shot ricocheted off pavement, went through suspects shoulder and lodged in male officer's leg.

Video illustrated point
Payne has been a bird hunter and very infrequent big game hunter for many years.

Payne always follows rule 3 with shotgun and rifle, with safety on and finger off trigger until ready to shoot.

BUT HAS NOT WITH .22 PISTOL!

The Way is in training.

So we should all take courses to learn more.

Not one of us can know it all.

rule 4 be sure of your target. know what is in front of it and what is behind it.

you are responsible for all of your shots fired.

instructor pointed to case in abq.
two police officers apparently confronted individual on bridge street in abq with long gun.
one officer's background was rio grande river. other officer's back ground was bridge street.
long gun possessor killed with shots from both officers.
bridge street officer unintentional shot apparently hit child in chest.
child survived, instructor reported.

Think things out in advance ... while listening to cool music, of course.

Concealed handgun instructor didn't mention cool background music suggestion.

Shoot only to stop action.

360 degree 30 foot safety zone.

27% of law enforcement officers involved in justified killing commit suicide within 4 years instructor informed class.

Instructor focuses on documenting your handgun training skills in the event you have to do some explaining to a lawyer after blowing someone away.

Instructor points out that if student blows someone away, both student and instructor will be sued.

As a result instructor pointed out that he is very careful who he passes in class.

Instructor emphasized that he carries lots of insurance with NRA.
