Change is usually the case. Lots of birds this year compared to 2008.

Then there is the economic recession. Or depression.

Freight trains carry 20% less cargo in 2009 than in the previous year

We finally got around to computing expenses. Pressing insurance matters along witn nickel and cadmium pollution statistics computations occupied about all of our time.

The motel cost was more than the gas several years ago.

61.367 * 114,000 = 6,995, 838 BTU.

But the food gatherers looked about the same. Three super-senior [over 70], two seniors [60s] and 4 juvenile gatherers.

Preparing for hunt in Valencia county, New Mexico.

Hit 20 of 25 at age 72 first time out.

Less after filing legal stuff.

Ability to concentrate is important for shooting skills.

Hunting buddy, and retired insurance adjuster administrator, introduced usus to audio cassettes or cd for travel over New Mexico, Colorado, an Kansas badlands.

Zune was new this year.

Zune seen behind shift lever.

Zune interfaces to radio/cd through dummy cassette. See wire above candy bag.

Zune apparently hogs power so it is connected to 12 volt auto power supply.

We listened to The Aviators by W. E. B. Griffin which was downloaded from the web.

Zune, hunting buddy reported, apparently will holds 120 gigabytes ... and is a power hog.

Mistake apparently made somewhere: 16 or 32 gigabytes.

The hunt for food is about ready to start on Saturday November 14, 2009.

Bill dispatched birds seen. Thanks to practice, of course.

Two senior citizens seen to right.
Senior citizen with red shirt unloading gun commented about the large number coal trains per day heading south through Colorado Springs. Colorado Springs resident Brent Barkett, who participated in some of PNM's electric integrated resource planning sessions, commented on the great number of coal trains too.
2006 Record Results (as of June 1)

All time highest BNSF monthly average coal trains loaded per day(55.45 tpd in May).

That coal contains about 8,600 BTU/pound. Those coal trains can contain about 120 coal hopper cars. 128 car train spotted at Rio Puerco, NM.

Capacity of each car reported up to 244,000 pounds.

8,600 * 120 * 244,000 = 215,808,000,000 BTU.

Fuel grade uranium only contains about 9,000 to 35,000 million BTU per pound, we read.

Two super seniors seen [one 70 other 71] to left with most super senior [72 years] taking picture.

One juvenile food gatherer seen walking on road.

Food gatherers seen BSing.

Vain food gatherers seen posing.

Three juveniles and one senior born 1945 and a graduate of the University of Colorado.

Lunch.

Gutsy hunters in the snow and wind on Sunday November 15, 2009.

No blaze orange camo this day.

Gutsy hunters score.

Then hunters decide to road hunt in the mud.

Vehicle ahead is moving sideways. Yuk.

Hunters return to motel room to watch football and drink - beer and, one senior, whiskey and soda.

That's 1938 hunter in foreground - photographed by 1937 hunter

We also discussed electricty generation.

Albuquerque hunters abandon hunt on Monday November 16, 2009 to return to Albuquerque because of weather fears.

Recession or depression apparently has caused storage of tanker and container cars to be stored on rural Kansas rail line.

Miles of them.

2006 Honda CR-V got crashed again.

On return to albuquerque bird hunting buddy drove bill down to M&M to pick up CR-V.

Dave Gonzales told bill that CR-V would be ready in 30 minutes.

So bill read magazines.

More unsolicited email.

CR-V was finished about 1 hour or more later.

Bird hunting was so good we are considing another essential non-gas-wasting trip in December.
