Readers, we like to be in the middle-of-nowhere for a variety of reasons. Businesses in the middle-of-nowhere try to make money. Middle-of-nowhere authors try to sell books about middle-of-nowhere subjects at middle-of-nowhere businesses. Case in point. Others recommended getting a guide for first attempt at fly fishing the San Juan. So bill accepted offer. Here's 60 year-old guide j proceeding to the the truck towing the drift boat parked in front of the Sportsmans Inn at 07:00 May 4, 2206. So guide j often had to yell at bill when he got a strike. Bill got about 15-25 strikes and landed about 8-10 fish. If no strikes in about ten minutes, j changed flies or weights. Here's a typical fly size.  J had magnifying glasses clipped to his hat brim used to thread the tippet though the fly hook eye. Tough for anyone ... and almost impossible for a senior citizen without optical help. Bill explained that he only took at fly fishing class from Los Pinos fly shop in the spring of 2005. J told bill he apparently learned lots and proceeded to tie three flies in tandem using 5 and 6x tippets. Here's a cutbow j is about ready to release.
