Conversations with Mr David Gibbs at the PNM IRP on Thurday January 12, 2014 caused

Going east near Winters, TX.

Towers take a turn to the south toward San Antonio, we were told.

No wires between towers in 2011.
Because their output is intermittent, volatile and largely unpredictable, the electricity they produce has less value than electricity from reliable ("dispatchable") generating units.
Revenue from sale of electricity sufficient to pay for transmission lines, wind
turbines, associated maintenance, removal and safe disposal?

An electricity equivalent of a sewer line?

On way to Austin between Post and south of Sweetwater, TX Monday December 23, 2013 fair number of turbines were not spinning.

On return Saturday December 28, 2013 most were spinning. Stronger wind?

Looking for Texas wind turbines not spinning vioeo.

And more.

One not spinning near Roscoe, TX on Saturday December 28, 2013.
Another not spinning. The Hit by David Baldacci audiobook.

More not spinning.

Fremantle NEXTera turbines?

One not spinning.

Fremantle McQuarie not spining?

Lubbock turbine not spinning.

Getting a non-spinning wind turbine spinning again cost is in question.

Asarco: Pollution and environmental issues.

Because of more energy-efficient housing, appliances and gadgets, power usage is on track to decline in 2013 for the third year in a row, to its lowest point since 2001, even though our lives are more electrified.

The hype over renewable energy — and in particular, the hype over biofuels and wind energy — has always hinged on the scientific illiteracy and innumeracy of the public and their politicians.

Wind Turbines Are Climate-Change Scarecrows.

The federal production tax credit, which gives wind farm owners 2.3 cents for every kilowatt-hour of power they produce for 10 years, has helped propel the industry in Texas and elsewhere across the United States.

But it is set to expire Tuesday. ...

For the next several years, the loss of the tax credit won't be noticeable because projects that begin construction by the end of 2013 have another 18 to 24 months to be completed and still qualify for the incentive.
